You are What you Eat!

Warning: This article may shock you!

arcimboldo_450 Over the past few months I have been doing a lot of research into commercial food practices and I was shocked to say the least!  I have decided to write this article to share some of my findings as I believe education is the key to optimal health.

The world is diseased and millions of people are dying from heart disease, cancer and pharmaceutical drugs. Many of these diseases can be prevented with the lifestyle choices we make and the foods we eat.  I am sure all of you know someone who has been effected by cancer or heart disease.  These diseases are preventable and curable and nutrition is the answer!

Some of the information that I share with you may be alarming and shocking to you (I know it was for me). My intention is to simply share the facts and allow you to do your own research and come to your own conclusions.

Fruits and Vegetables

Commercial Fruits and Vegetables are grown in soil that has been depleted of more than 80% of the minerals and microorganisms. This leads to fruits and vegetables that contain 80% less vitamins and minerals (when compared to Organically grown produce). You may think you are eating healthy but the truth is you are probably lacking many key nutrients in your diet.

The fruits and vegetables are very sick and nature has an amazing way of dealing with sick foods. The fruits and vegetables do not contain adequate nutrition so nature’s way of solving this problem is to send bugs and insects in to attack the plants and return them back to the soil. Commercial Farmers obviously want to protect their crops so they use a wide range of pesticides, herbicides and fungicides to eliminate the bugs and insects from destroying the crops. When you eat commercially grown fruits and vegetables you are getting very little nutritional value and you are filling your body with a wide range of toxins that are detrimental to your health.

The transit time from commercial farm to your local grocery store can often be weeks (or many months). To slow the ripening process fruits and vegetables are coated with a toxic array of chemicals. Many fruits and vegetables are also artificially coloured to ensure they appear healthy and edible (have you ever noticed the waxy residue on apples? This is a toxic combination of chemicals to enhance appearance and slow down the ripening process).

Commercial Meats

Commercial farming and mass production of meat has lead to incredibly poor quality and cruelty to animals. Cows are packed into huge holding yards and are unable to move. They are living in their own faeces. The cows get no exercise, no grass and are grain fed. They are very sick and to keep them alive they are pumped full of antibiotics (provided by pharmaceutical companies). When we eat the meat we ingest these antibiotics in large quantities and this has a dramatic impact on our health.

Cows are sold by the pound and many commercial farmers will do anything to fatten them up. Some commercial farmers feed cattle newspaper, cardboard and even cement dust to increase weight (these practices have been shown to increase bodyweight by up to 30%). When our bodies are loaded with toxins we put on excess body fat to store the toxins and keep them away from vital organs. Guess what we are eating when we eat the meat!

Chickens are stored in cages with their head out one end to eat grain and their backsides out the other end to lay eggs. Many chickens can’t even move in these cages and don’t receive any sunlight. Chickens often have their beaks removed to avoid fighting and cannibalization with other chickens.

Many meats have been irradiated to ‘sanitise’ them. A turkey is blasted with radiation equivalent to 150 million times that of a standard chest X-ray. I am surprised that they are not glowing!

Microwave Ovens

Microwaves have been shown to cause huge molecular changes in food that produce carcinogenic substances. Microwaved food has also been shown to destroy up to 97% of enzymes, vitamins and minerals.

The 4 White Devils

The 4 white devils include white flour, processed salt, sugar and pasteurised milk. These refined and processed foods have been linked to a wide range of diseases including Heart Disease, Cancer, Obesity and Diabetes.

white_lily_bag Highly processed foods cause huge fluctuations in blood sugar levels and are stripped of many vitamins and minerals.

These products have very high calories and very minimal nutritional content.  This leads to millions of people being overweight or obese and malnourished!

Canned Food

Canned food was very convenient for soldiers in the war, unfortunately they are still around today!  Many people use canned and packaged foods as the main staples in their diet.  Canned food is dead food.  It contains no enzymes (due to heat treating) and many of the nutrients have been destroyed.  The inner linings of canned food are also toxic and these chemicals leech into the food.

Pasteurized Milk

Drinking pasteurized milk is like drinking poison. Pasteurization involves heating milk to extremely high temperatures to destroy the bad bacteria. Unfortunately this also destroys the beneficial bacteria and enzymes while destroying most of the nutrients from the milk.

The milk is then homogenized, a process where milk is pressurized at over 4000psi to break up the protein and fat structures to prevent milk separating and cream forming on the top. This makes the protein and fat molecules extremely difficult to digest and the body regards them as a foreign substance. The milk is then treated chemically to hide the smell of the rancid fats and is also bleached white to cover up the slightly brown appearance. A better option could be drinking gasoline!

Plastic Containers

Storing or heating food in plastic containers has also been proven to be very toxic to our health.  Chemicals from the plastic leach into the foods and these toxins act as estrogens in our body and dramatically effect hormone levels.

To all the mums out there – Heating milk in plastic bottles (in microwave ovens) can be extremely toxic to your babies.  Consider heating bottles in BPA free plastic containers or glass bottles in a saucepan.

Fast Food

fatkidI talked about the commercial farming methods for meat production.  A Fast Food hamburger contains all of the left over bits and pieces from the sick animals (I won’t go into details).  This is all mashed together in huge grinders and then poof, out pops a hamburger!  If you want to completely destroy your health then I recommend eating fast foods on a consistent basis!

Acidic Foods

Most disease is caused by a diet high in acid forming foods (highly processed foods, meats, dairy, fast food, sweets, bread, etc).  Our bodies must maintain a certain pH level to stay alive.  If our blood is acidic our bodies must neutralise this acid.  To do this it leeches calcium from the bones and uses the phosphate to increase the pH level.  This leaves free calcium circulating in the blood which combines with cholesterol and blocks arteries (the cause of heart disease).  This can also lead to osteoporosis.

Okay, so you might be thinking, what can I eat then? Am I going to starve to death?

The good news is that there is a wide range of amazing food that is readily available. You just need to become more conscious of what you are purchasing at the supermarket and what is going in to your body.

Top 10 Tips for Optimal Health

fruit_vegetables 1. Buy a wide range of certified organic fruits and vegetables. Yes, they cost more money but how much do you value your health?

2. Avoid highly processed / packaged foods as these have been loaded with chemicals and preservatives. Most of these foods are dead and have lost the majority of their nutritional content.

3. Buy organic free range meats. These animals have been treated humanly and do not contain chemicals or antibiotics.  They have also avoided irradiation.

4. Filter your water to remove chemicals and fluoride

5. Try to eat 60 – 70% of your foods raw. Cooking food kills enzymes and denatures proteins.

6. Avoid anything with artificial sweeteners (especially Aspartame). These sweeteners have been linked to several diseases including cancer.

7. Minimize consumption of empty calorie foods containing excess white flour, sugar and salt

8. Throw out your microwave oven and choose a convection oven instead

9. Avoid pasteurized milk products and choose certified organic whole milk products in their original state

10. Eat a diet high in alkaline based foods such as fruits and vegetables (especially leafy green vegies).

If it wasn’t around 10,000 years ago, think twice about eating it!

I believe that all disease is a result of malnutrition and stress. The pharmaceutical industry is a huge scam and they are making billions of dollars at the expense of our health (I won’t get into that now, I will leave that for another article!).

We have the power to choose what goes in our mouths and we also have the power to educate others to make informed decisions about our health. By purchasing foods from commercial farmers we are supporting the cruelty to animals and the use of chemicals and pecticides on our foods.

Make a decision to support local farmers with certified organic foods and we can all make a difference!

Gratitude

A few years ago I was introduced to the amazing power of Gratitude and it has completely changed my life.

It is impossible to bring more into your life if you are feeling ungrateful about what you already have. Why? Because the thoughts and feelings you emit as you feel ungrateful are all negative emotions and they will attract more of those feelings and events into your life.

Be grateful for what you already have in your life now!

As you think of these things you will start to attract more things to be grateful for. Think about your family, friends, house, car, clothes, heating, cooling, electricity, fresh food, water, etc. Sometimes it’s easy to focus on what we don’t have but we must be grateful for what we already have before we can attract more good into our lives.

When you are in a sincere state of gratitude your energy and vibration is one of acceptance and harmony. You resonate and project a much higher frequency which attracts to you the events, conditions, and circumstances that you desire.

Think of yourself as a giant magnet. Whatever you are feeling, whether it be love, fear, anger, happiness, anger, joy or gratitude. You are creating a magnetic force that attracts and draws to you events, conditions and circumstances which are in direct correlation to what you are feeling. Fear of something creates a magnetic force that will attract more of what you fear. Expressing Gratitude for any situation projects a magnetic force that draws to you even more things to be grateful for!

Here are 2 powerful processes to start the attraction of gratitude and appreciation:

Process 1- Gratitude Book

Purchase a nice book with blank pages and write ‘Gratitude Book’ on the front. The left side of the page is for Gratitude Now and the right side of the page is for Gratitude in the Future.

Gratitude Now
Every morning write down 5 things that you are currently Grateful for. Start each line with I am truly grateful for …….’. When you really start focusing on gratitude you will be amazed by how many things you can come up with!

Gratitude in the Future
On the right side of the page write down 5 things that you are Grateful for in the future. Start each line with I am so happy and grateful now that …..‘ . Choose goals that you want to achieve in the future and be grateful for them in the present moment. Feel the emotion as if you have already achieved your goal and visualise yourself in the picture.

As you start to focus on the things that you are grateful for and lock into the frequency of Gratitude you will start to attract more things to be grateful for. Instead of focusing on lack and limitation you will now be focusing on health, wealth and abundance. By feeling Gratitude for future goals we are raising our vibration to the level required to manifest those goals in our physical reality.

Process 2 (from the famous book ‘The Secret’):

“Every night before you fall asleep, give heartfelt thanks for the wonderful day you just had (no matter what kind of day you had). Think about the next day, and intend that it is going to be wonderful. Intend that it is going to be the best day of your entire life. Intend that it is going to be filled with love and joy. Intend that all good is coming to you and everything is going to flow perfectly.

Then when you wake up in the morning, BEFORE you get out of bed, again declare your intentions for the day and give deep thanks as though you have received them all. As you do this, you will begin to create your life deliberately and you will experience first hand the power that is within you to create the life that you desire”

One of my favorite books of all time is The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles. One entire chapter in this book is dedicated to the subject of Gratitude. Here are a few powerful quotes from the book:

“First, you believe that there is one intelligent substance from which all things proceed. Second, you believe that this substance gives you everything you desire. Third and Final, you relate yourself to it by a feeling of deep and profound gratitude”

“The more gratefully we fix our minds on the supreme when good things come to us, the more good things we will receive, and the more rapidly they will come”.

The Science of Getting Rich has some fantastic principles and I suggest reading it multiple times.

Start expressing sincere Gratitude and appreciation for everything in your life today and you will soon start attracting even more things to be Grateful for!

Action Step

Start the Gratitude process today by replying to this thread and list 5 things that you are grateful for now and 5 things that you are grateful for in the future.

Try it for 30 consecutive days and you will be amazed by what starts to manifest in your life!

30 Day Mental Fast

The 30 Day Mental Fast could be the most challenging but potentially life changing exercise that you have ever tried!  Make a commitment to complete this 30 day challenge and you will gain incredible focus, clarity and massive momentum toward achieving your goals.

1.     Read a minimum of 15 minutes per day from an inspiring book

Try to pick topics on Personal Development, Mindset, Success, Spirituality, etc.  If you haven’t read Think and Grow Rich then I suggest starting with this book!  If you read 15 minutes per day for 30 days then you should be able to finish the entire book in this time.

2.     Turn off the Television for 30 days

How many of you just fell of your chair?!  I did warn you that this wasn’t going to be easy!  I understand that television is a big part of many people’s lives but just try to keep it off for 30 days as it will have an incredible impact.  You will be amazed by how much extra time you have with your friends, family and also to focus on your goals.

At the very least try to cut out all disempowering television such as news, current affairs, soaps, etc.  Our subconscious mind absorbs all of this negativity and is programmed to believe the crap that they bombard us with.  Our subconscious mind starts to think that people rip you off, life is dangerous, wealthy people are con artists, investing is risky, etc.  This constant bombardment of negative news can have devastating effects on our mindset and on our success.

3.     Turn off the radio in the car and listen to Audio Books

Many of us spend hours and hours driving in our cars every single week.  Why not make the most of this time and turn your car into a University on Wheels!  An ipod is one of the best investments you can make.  Download audio books on Personal Development, Mindset and Investing and listen to them every day while driving your car.  You can get through an entire book in about 6 hours.  Most people drive more than 6 hours per week so that adds up to 1 book every week or 52 books per year.

Imagine the amazing impact this would have on your life and on your results!  I have found a fantastic website to download audiobooks and they have a huge range of titles from authors such as Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Brian Tracey, Jim Rohn, Wayne Dyer and hundreds more.

4.     Don’t read the newspaper

95% of the newspaper is bad news.  Bad news sells and like television, can have a devastating impact on our subconscious minds.  Friends and family will tell you about any major events that are happening in the world!

5.     Associate with empowering people.

Do your friends empower you to achieve success and reach your goals or do they disempower you and try to hold you back?  Try this exercise: Write down the names of your 5 closest friends (the friends you spend most of your time with).  Estimate the annual salary for each friend.  Divide this number by 5 and this figure will be pretty close to your annual salary!

How do you earn more money and achieve more success? Surround yourself with people who have achieved the results that you want to achieve!  Choose friends that will inspire you to reach your goals and support you every step of the way.  Who needs friends that drag you down and prevent you from fulfilling your dreams?  Their insecurity and negativity will prevent you from reaching your goals.

6.     Drink more water

Did you know that our bodies need approximately 1 litre of water / 25kg of bodyweight.  If you weigh 75kg you need to drink 3 litres of water every single day!  Our bodies are made up of over 70% water and the majority of us are constantly in a dehydrated state.  This causes toxins to build up in the body, fatigue, lack of concentration, etc.  If you are not getting enough water then it is important to increase your intake gradually (otherwise you will spend most of your day on the toilet!).  Increase your daily intake by 1 glass in the first week and keep adding 1 glass each week after this until you reach the target of 1 litre / 25kg.

7.     Walk for 20 minutes per day

For the next 30 days aim to go for a 20 minute walk every day.  Walking is a great way to increase the circulation, clear the head, burn fat and decrease stress levels.  You can also take your ipod and listen to an audiobook at the same time!

Walking also stimulates our right and left brain together so you may find that you come up with some great ideas.  Take a pocket notepad and pen on your walk just in case you have a million dollar brainwave!

8.      Reflection and Visualisation

Spend 20 minutes every day sitting in a quiet location with your eyes shut.  Express gratitude for all of the great things in your life and visualise the amazing future that you are about to create.  Picture yourself having already achieved your wildest dreams.  What type of house do you live in?  What car do you drive?  What travel destinations have you visited?  Put yourself in the picture and feel the emotion.  Take notice of any colours, smells, tastes or sounds.  Keep practicing this until you get tingles down your spine and goose bumps from head to toe.  This is a very powerful process!

If you make a commitment to complete the 30 day mental fast I guarantee your life will never be the same again.  It will be a challenge and it will be difficult at times but believe me when I say that the results at the end will be well worth the short term pain!  Good Luck!

Stock Market is about to Crash!

stock_market_crash I usually don’t like to write about doom and gloom but feel it is important to send this out to educate people about what is about to happen on the Stock Market.  I am hoping that you will take the time to do some research and make an informed decision as to the right path of action for your specific circumstances.

The market has been very shaky for the past few weeks and I feel we are not too far away from a huge correction that could lead to wide spread panic and huge selling.

Now is the time to educate yourself about your options! You can actually make more money during a falling market than during a rising market (if you know how!).

Awaken with Avatar

eagle Today I am going to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and take a leap of faith to take your life to a whole new level!

Thoughts Become Things

Today I am going to discuss one of the most powerful lessons that I have ever learnt. If you master the teachings from this lesson then I guarantee your life will never be the same again!

What we focus on becomes our reality!

Four years ago I read an amazing book that has changed my life forever. The book is called ‘Think and Grow Rich’ and was written by Napoleon Hill in 1937. Napoleon Hill spent his entire life studying the laws of success and worked with some of the wealthiest men in history such as Andrew Carnegie and Henry Ford. His Laws of Success have stood the test of time and are still very valid today. If you take the time to read, study and apply those principles, I guarantee they will have a massive impact on your results and also the quality of your life.

Scientists have estimated that we have over 25,000 thoughts every day. The problem is that those 25,000 thoughts tend to be the exact same thoughts repeating themselves over and over again!

We develop patterns of behavior over time and our lives become very predictable. We sleep on the same side of the bed each night, we eat the same breakfast, brush our teeth in the same direction and have a shower washing the same body parts in the same order! We then drive to work on the same roads, talk to the same people and do the same work. We get home and watch the same television shows, have the same dinners and talk about the same topics.

We spend our entire working week counting down the days to the weekend. We then spend the weekend going out, drinking, socialising and complaining about how bad work is. Sunday night comes around quickly and we start getting depressed at the thought of going back to work again on Monday. This robot like routine repeats itself over and over again! Do you know that there are more heart attacks on a Monday morning at 9am than any other time in the week?

The sad fact is that 95% of people tend to bitch, whine and complain about their current situation without attempting to do anything to change it. They don’t realise that they are creating this miserable life by the way that they think!

Nothing changes if nothing changes!

95% of people are stuck in a rut in their lives and a rut is only a few inches above a grave! To change our lives we must change our habits and to change our habits we must change our thoughts! New thoughts lead to new feelings which lead to new actions which lead to new results!

Thoughts -> Feelings -> Actions -> Results

We must learn to monitor our thoughts if we want to change our lives. How much time do you spend focusing on what you don’t want in life instead of focusing on what you do want?

Imagine yourself like a human transmission tower, transmitting a frequency with your thoughts. If you want to change anything in your life, change the frequency by changing your thoughts.

The key to success is to spend more time focusing on what we want in life. We need to stop complaining about our current circumstances and accept the fact that we have created everything through our thoughts. We must accept full responsibility for our current reality. If we play a victim we are powerless. If we accept the fact that we have created everything in our lives then we now become powerful. We now have the ability to change our lives. All it takes is a decision! To change our current situation we must change our thoughts and refocus our energy.

If you type ‘Poverty’ into a Google search engine what comes up? Millions of topics about poverty! What happens if you type ‘Wealth’ into the same search engine? You get millions of pages about wealth!

What are you typing into your search engine?

If you are currently in debt and you keep getting bills in the mail then the first step is to stop complaining about the bills. Every time you complain about your level of debt you attract more debt into your life. This effect is compounded if you add extreme emotion to the situation. The frequency that you are emitting out to the universe is ‘Debt’! You need to start focusing on wealth and abundance if you want to get out of debt.

The same rule applies to people who continually protest against what they don’t want. They make up banners and posters, march down the street and start yelling “no more war, no more war’. They don’t realise that by doing this they are actually attracting more war into their lives! Whenever you add feeling and emotion to your thoughts the results are compounded one hundred fold. Instead of being anti war they must change their thoughts to being pro peace. Whether they are thinking ‘NO MORE WAR’ or ‘BRING ON THE WAR’ the vibration is EXACTLY the same and they will attract it into their lives.

Over the next few days start to monitor your thoughts.

Take note of how many times you focus on what you don’t want. Use your emotions as a guide. If you are feeling negative emotions then you must be focusing on something that you do not want. If you are feeling positive emotions then keep focusing on that!

As soon as you feel yourself focusing on negative situations immediately shift your focus to what you do want. This will take some practice but the first step to changing your life starts with increasing your awareness.
